Pixelup: AI Photo Enhancer App

If I have a fairly decent photo with the subject looking directly at the camera, I'll likely be satisfied with the result, whether it's sharpening, colorizing, or animating. However, if the photo is too blurry or the subject is not facing the camera directly, the result will be more fantasy than reality or even deformed looking if the subject was photographed at an angle. It can take some work and experimenting to get the best result. In one case though, I got a near perfect animation of my grandmother who had long passed and I had no movie film of her. Using the colorize and 'Charismatic' animation, she suddenly popped to life if in living color, if only for a few seconds. In terms of sharpening the picture, it pretty much deblurs faces and little else. I'll set my expectations accordingly and I'll enjoy using the app.

I create videos for loved ones that can be up to 200 pictures long, and not all the pictures sent to me are clear. So, after going through tons of different apps trying to find the best one to clean up pictures, and FAST at that, was a hard find. Most clean-up apps make pics look animated or not look like the person, but this app cleans up the people in the photo and the rest of the photo at the same time. Even the background and objects get cleaned up, and I love it. I couldn't find another app that works as efficiently as this one. It's a godsend for what I do anyway. The only suggestion I could make is giving the option of uploading several photos at a time. It would have cut some time down for me, but I'm not complaining. Adding that feature would only make this app even better. Still, without it, it doesn't take away from the fact that it is the best at the simple task it claims to do. I give it five stars all day!

Firstly, I am writing this review in the hopes of getting rid of the annoying pop-up that appears every 4th click while processing an image in the app. Additionally, I find it frustrating that I have to go through multiple clicks to select the next photo in my project. After finishing one picture, I am taken back to the start screen and have to click on the + button, choose from the library, select the gallery, then the albums, and finally find the album containing my 57 headshots. It would be much more convenient if the app left me in the same album so I could easily scroll and select the next photo. Overall, I find this app useful for my project, which involves cropping 57 faces from a graduating class photo taken in 1961. The app quickly converts these grainy headshots into pretty good representations of each person, which is great since I am not a Photoshop expert. However, one major drawback is that the app struggles to handle reflections from glasses and the flash, resulting in strange-looking eyes for those who wore glasses in the original photo.
