Fantastic editor. Horrid layout
4.50
I have been using this photo editing app to enhance my most cherished photos of my loved ones, pets, and kids. The app offers powerful editing tools that are precise and effective, which many other apps lack. However, I must admit that the navigation layout of the app is quite clumsy and difficult to use. It seems like I have to navigate through unnecessary menus and drop-down tabs to get to my favorite tagged photos, which interrupts my user experience. The original navigation layout was much more organic and fluid, and it allowed me to load freshly picked photos ready to edit in a pinch. Unfortunately, the current layout is bulky and thick, which makes it difficult to manage. It appears that the app now prioritizes their other user products, such as the newly introduced video editor, which is not helpful for me. I will continue using the app for now, but I hope that the developers take note of the importance of designing a welcoming UI for their users.

Retouch and Paint features
4.40
Prior to writing this review, I came across another review that discussed the same issues I am facing. I personally believe that the developers of Facetune are incredibly talented and have created an amazing app. However, I don't think it's fair to suddenly update the app and start charging for two features that have allowed them to gain so many downloads: the retouch and paint option. I use these features for work, personal use, and to help my friends fix their photos. Unfortunately, I already pay for too many subscriptions and cannot afford another one just for these two options. Instead, I suggest that the developers increase their revenue for the app by adding more features, such as hair color or clothing, which can be available through subscription. They should open up these retouch and paint features to free users again. Those who can afford to continuously pay a subscription will pay for the other, new, and much cooler features that the developers have been adding. The app is great in use, with no crashes. It was just this one thing. Additionally, it seems that the hype over Facetune that has been introduced by influencers has made the creators believe that they should suddenly start charging more for what they call a "selfie editing app."

Veiled promises and unrequited love
4.70
In the past, I had strong feelings for you, but you have broken the promises that our vows were built upon. It's not about money, it's about our children. We initially planned to have two children, but they became so demanding that we had to take on additional jobs to support them. As a result, we have no time left for the love that brought us together, and I'm not even sure if I still love our kids. Regarding the app, it used to be a fantastic free app that I enjoyed using. However, now the basic features such as face smoothing, lighting, and background editing are only available as trials, and the effects provided by the subscription are subpar and cheap-looking. I've been checking back for upgrades and improvements to the free version, but so far, nothing has changed. I'll keep reading reviews to see if the subscription is worth the $70 price tag compared to Photoshop and Lightroom subscriptions with their learning curves.
