As a new plant parent, I have found this app to be incredibly helpful! Upon downloading the app, I was offered a yearly subscription at half price for only $10, which I think is an amazing deal. While the app may not have every subspecies of a plant (for example, it doesn't recognize my raven zz, which is a fairly new species discovered in 2018), it still has a vast variety. Even if it doesn't identify your exact plant subspecies, it will find one that is similar enough that the care requirements are the same. Overall, I think this app is awesome and definitely worth the ten bucks!

Don't like it being locked

I have several plants in my home that require watering once a week or so, and I found it challenging to keep track of when I last watered them. However, I discovered an app that is exactly what I was looking for. It allows me to upload a photo of my plant, and it automatically identifies it and provides me with information such as when to water it and what temperature to keep it at. I was keeping one of my plants in direct sunlight, which was causing it to die, but the identification feature let me know that it's best to keep it in cool, dry, darker areas, and now my plant is growing again! Additionally, the app has a feature that sends reminders of when to water each plant. I couldn't be happier with this app and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an app to remind them when to water their plants.

As a newbie to houseplants, I have found this app to be a lifesaver! I love how helpful it is in identifying the plants I love and providing me with information on how to care for them properly. It even tells me what's wrong with my plants, so I know exactly what to do. I've invested in soils, pots, paint, and beautiful plants to not only bring aesthetics but also better air quality into our family home. My son loves learning about the plants too when we are out on walks and bikes, and I even used the app with my mom, who was blown away! She loved a certain arrangement in a person's yard she drove by but couldn't identify the plants and shrubs. Since they weren't home to ask, I showed her how we could take a photo of the flower/leaves, and the names/info popped right up! She was able to plan it all out and tell her gardener exactly what she wanted. I absolutely love this app and highly recommend it to anyone!

How to use

1. From the App Store or Google Play Store, download and install the NatureID app on your smartphone or tablet. 2. Launch the programme and grant it access to your camera and photo collection. 3. Tap the "Identify" button on the home screen to learn the name of a plant, fungus, rock, or bug. 4. Photograph the natural object clearly if you wish to accurately identify it. A clear, well-lit subject is essential. 5. The app will evaluate the snapshot using its AI-driven recognition technology once you capture it. The software will show the object's name and details in a few seconds. 6. To track the development of your plants, choose "Journal" from the menu on the home screen. 7. Tap the "Add Plant" icon and upload a photo of the plant to add it to your diary. The plant will be instantly recognised by the programme, and its name and other details will be filled in. 8. To keep track of your plant's development and upkeep, you can then add notes, pictures, and reminders to the journal entry for your plant. 9. Tap the "Search" icon on the home screen and enter the name of the plant you're looking for to conduct a name-based search. 10. Tap the "Filters" icon on the home screen and select from a range of options including plant type, light needs, and water needs to create filters and find plants that are suitable for your needs.
